Who Is Sam Reed Photo?

Sam is a Philadelphia-based lifestyle portrait photographer who has spent over a decade photographing what she calls “beauty in chaos.” Maternity, newborn, family, boudoir. She feels it all and makes the people in front of her lens feel it too.

The Design

The illustrations needed to carry the same energy as the rest of her brand: whimsical without being juvenile, natural without being boring. They needed to live inside a palette of muted greens, terracottas, and warm neutrals and feel like they belonged in the same universe as the intimate, golden-toned lifestyle work she actually makes.

The goal was to make her name feel like it had always belonged in a logo this good. Clean enough to live anywhere. Distinctive enough to stop the scroll.

The Human Behind the Brand

Designing for someone means actually knowing them, not just their business. And Sam is a person worth knowing.

She listens to Chappell Roan and 90s and 2000s R&B. She goes to the Adirondacks when she can and drinks margaritas when she gets there. She keeps herself alive with a Stanley water bottle and fueled on pizza and chicken wings.

Her friends call her goofy, funny, doesn’t like the spotlight. Which is hilarious because she has spent eleven years building an entire career out of connecting with strangers and making them shine. She’s exactly the kind of person who deflects her own warmth but pours it all over everyone else in the room. The brand had to hold all of that. Approachable and warm but with real artistry behind it. Funny and grounded but romantic enough to match the work she actually makes.

What This Project Was Really About

Sam spent eleven years building a business on the side before betting on herself full time. This brand was the visual declaration of that bet. It was the moment of saying: I’m here, this is real, and I deserve to love what my name looks like.

So I built her something she could be proud of. Something that finally matched the photographer and the person she’s been all along.

If you’re a Philadelphia photographer (or anywhere, honestly) who’s been operating with a brand that doesn’t fit anymore, you know where to find me. (Hint: it’s right here).

Are you ready to go from lost in the chatter to standing out, authentically you, and thriving?

(Heck yeah you are)
